THE 3C’S OF THE ENEMY PART 4: CONFUSION

Last time we talked about 2nd of the 3C’S: Conflict. Satan wants to create a conflict between God and you. Satan wants you to believe his lies instead of the truth from God. However, we learned that there’s no conflict. What Satan says to you won’t help you in any shape or form. Satan is only interested in his wellbeing not yours. He wants to pull you away from the truth. He wants you to question the truth. Don’t believe his lies. God is the truth, the way and the light. Today we are going to look at the third of the 3C’S: Confusion.
According to the dictionary, confusion means lack of understanding and uncertainty. A situation of panic and a breakdown in order. Satan uses confusion to cause a breakdown of order between you and God. Satan does this by taking advantage of your lack of understanding of what God wants from you. Satan knows that you’re uncertain about things in your life that is important. For example, your job, children, health, finances, relationship with God to name a few. Once again, when you’re confused you want answers. You want order, understanding and certainty. Satan knows this and he’ll offer his version of a solution to the confusion. He’s going to test and question your belief and relationship with God. Remember what he asked Eve? He listened to her answer and then offered his lie filled version. He told her “You will not surely die.”  Satan is essentially saying that God is lying to her. How outrageous is that! This is why you need to established a strong relationship with God. God will tell you the truth. Once again, Satan is a liar. It’s all in the word of God. Let’s look at the God U Said It Verse of the day.

In Matthew 4:9 NIV it says “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” Satan is trying to tempt Jesus into bowing down to him by offering him something. Satan is trying to confuse Jesus by saying I can offer you something that God can’t or won’t. This just nothing but another lie Satan tells in order to confuse someone. God already said there’s nothing impossible that I can’t do. Satan can’t out do God in any form shape or fashion. Satan tries to manipulate what you already know with one of his lies. If Satan can confuse you, you’re more inclined to listen to what he wants to offer you. Don’t fall for Satan lies and what his promises. Satan speaks in lies and that’s all he knows. Satan is calling in question the truth that God has already instilled in you. Stand firm on the truth and just like Jesus in Matthew 4:10 you will say “Away from me Satan.”  We have come to end of this series for now. Next time we’ll talk about who’s speaking to you. Until next time, may God continue to bless you and keep you.

THE 3C'S OF THE ENEMY PART 3: CONFLICT

Last time we talked about Chaos. Satan wants to introduce chaos into your life. Once you start looking for answers, he wants to offer you a solution. A solution designed to cause you to have more serious problems, pain and suffering. Seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness for your solution to your problems. God wants the best for you. Today we are going to look at the second of the 3CS: Conflict.
According to the dictionary, conflict means a serious disagreement of argument typically an extended one. An incompatibility between 2 or more opinions, principles or interest. God’s principles and interest is the complete opposite of Satan’s. Thus, this is where the disagreements come in. What God wants you to do and Satan wants you to do is different. What God says is the absolute truth. What Satan says is an absolute lie. Last time in my blog about chaos Satan asked Eve, “Did God say this?” Satan is introducing conflict between what God said and what Satan wants you to believe. He wants to create a conflict between you and God. He will ask you questions and remind you of the current state that you’re in. He’ll remind you about your past history. He’ll remind you about trouble in your marriage, finances, family to name a few. He’ll ask you “Well if God loves you, why don’t he do something. Why would he want you to suffer?  I thought you said that you’re blessed?” He’ll even quote you bible verses to try and create conflict. “If it says this in the bible, why isn’t it happening to you?” Please remember who the enemy is, his tactics and methods. He wants to distract you so that you’re not staying connected to God.  Whatever type of weakness you have in your life, that’s where Satan wants to attack. For example if you’re suffering from an illness, Satan will attack at this point. “Well God heals people so he MIGHT heal you if he feels like it.” “It sure is taking an awful long time for God to heal you.” “Why don’t you try what I have instead?”  “Even if he heals you, things won’t be the same.”  Satan will continue to try and attack until you do something about it. Let’s look at the God u said it verse of the day.

In James 4:7 (NIV) it states, Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. This verse says it all. You need to submit yourselves to God. Don’t listen or take part in the conflict Satan is trying to cause.  Resist Satan and he will see that he’s wasting his time with you. Satan would be better off going to somebody else. You must keep Satan out of your life as much as possible. Keep your focus and attention on God. There’s no conflict with him when it comes to the truth and what’s best for your life. Satan is a liar.  Next time we’ll talk about the last of the 3CS’ confusion. Until then, may God continue to bless you and keep you.

THE 3CS’ OF THE ENEMY: PART 2 CHAOS

Last time we talked about the 3CS’. The devil wants to cause Chaos, Conflict and Confusion in your life. He wants you to be unstable, stressed out, lost and defeated. He wants to pull you and keep you away from God. We will stand and not let this happen. Today we are going to talk about the first C Chaos.
According to dictionary Chaos means complete disorder and confusion. Satan wants you to be in this state. He knows when you’re in this state; you may become weak and vulnerable to manipulation. He wants to attack you when you’re weak. He knows you’re going to seek a solution to your chaos. Satan wants to be your solution to your problem. However, what he wants to do is cause bigger problems for you. The problems are more harmful and difficult than the one you’re in now. You’re trading problems for problems. Remember he’s a liar. He’ll introduce so called solutions to your problems. “It’s okay to fool with this man or woman even though they’re married.” “You deserve to be happy and satisfied.” “You’re confused on whether you still want to be married.” ” Your marriage is in disorder.” ”Why should you suffer and be unhappy.” ” No one will know. “ ”It’s okay to do these drugs.”” Your stressed out and confused.”” This will help you relax and think clearer.” Don’t fall for these tricks and lies. Satan wants to cause you harm and pain. Let’s look at the God U Said it verse of the today.

In Gensis 3: 1 it states “Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” The serpent in this verse is Satan. God himself instructed Adam on what to do. Adam told Eve what God. However, Satan ask the question to Eve “Did God really say “You must not eat from any tree in the garden” Satan was introducing chaos into Eve’s life.  Remember Chaos means complete disorder and confusion.  Eve let Satan know that she was confused and not sure about what was told you. This is one of the tactics Satan uses to create chaos. He’ll ask you a question about what God said. He will see if you’re sure about what God said. How there’s one thing you know before Satan tries to talk to you. It’s impossible for him to tell the truth about anything. Even before he starts speaking he’s going to tell a lie. He is going to try to twist and put his spin on the truth. If he is lying to you that means God is telling you the truth. Satan uses chaos to get you disorganized and confused. Once this happens, you’re more vulnerable towards his attacks and tactics. Read and listen to what God tells you. He loves you and wants what’s best for you. Satan wants what’s best for him by using you. Don’t let him introduce Chaos into your life. Ask God for order and clarity on what he wants you to do. Next time we’ll talk about the next C conflict. Until then, may God continue to bless you and keep you.

THE 3CS' OF THE ENEMY INTRODUCTION: PART 1

I’m going to introduce to you some of the tactics Satan uses to try and steal, kill and destroy your life. You have to realize that Satan is your enemy. He wants you to follow him and obey him to your death. Satan will take any type of death. There are people right now who are literally walking around dead.  He wants death in your finances, marriage, relationship, health, sanity to name a few. He doesn’t want you to have any kind of peace, righteousness or order with God. He wants you to THINK that you have peace righteousness and order by following him. He’s deceptive, evil and a liar. Today we’ll talk about what the enemy wants in your life.
What the enemy wants in your life is the 3CS’. The 3CS’are Chaos, Conflict, and Confusion. He wants you to be in these states of mind. If you’re focused on these, you will have a difficult time focusing on God. Satan will use these tactics to wear you down and out. Satan usually won’t strike you with one fatal blow. Satan loves to see us suffer, hurt and defeated. He wants to break us down slowly. You many not notice anything at first. However, as time goes by, it becomes more obvious and visible that something is wrong. You’re doing the wrong things in search of the answers to your needs, desires and problems. For example doing drugs will help you relieve stress. Cheating on your spouse will help you with your loneliness. Stealing money will help you with your financial situation. What’s really happening is slowly he’s pulling you into his trap. The next thing you know you’re in a situation that you don’t want to be in. you ask yourself, “How did I end up here?” “What happened?” “What was I thinking?” When you ask yourself these questions, chances are Satan had done his job putting you in a situation without you being aware of it. Let’s look at the God U Said It verse of the day.

In John 8:44 NIV it states:You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” Satan is liar plain and simple. He will say anything to trap you. “It’s okay”, “It’s alright”, “No one will know”, “You deserve this don’t you?,” “No one will get hurt.” You have to be alert and diligent. Recognize what Satan is trying to do by studying what God said in his holy word. Keep Satan away and out of your life. God wants order, truth, clarity and peace in your life. Go to God in prayer and ask for help. Next time we are going to break down the 3CS’ and continue to destroy the works of Satan with knowledge and power. Until next time may God bless you and keep you.

POWER THROUGH PAIN, PART 2

Last time we began talking about power through pain. You’re going to need God to get you through the pain. You will be on God’s timetable. He knows you’re suffering. However, you may be wondering why it has to be you. You want the pain to stop. You have enough on your plate. I understand because I’m there with you. We will continue to power through pain.  Today we are going to talk about what to keep in mind as you power through pain.

The first thing you need to keep in mind is that God is with you. In Matthew 1:23 NIV it states; “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).  Jesus is with us right now. You are not alone. It may feel like it but you are not. The second thing you need to keep in mind is that this pain will pass and joy will come. In Psalm 126 NIV it states: “Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.” God is with you through your circumstances and situations: even if you caused them upon yourself.  There may be tears flowing from your eyes and dropping down on your field of life. Your joy is being rooted under your field. You may not be able to see anything taking root, but when it sprouts and grows you’re going to reap joy. The third thing you need to keep in mind is that God doesn’t operate like we do. In Isaiah 55:8 NIV it states:  “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. You may still not understand why you’re going through this. The answer may come later on. As difficult as it may be, God is still under control. The fourth thing you need to keep in mind is that what you’re going through may pay benefits later on. I know some of you don’t feel like hearing “This is for your own good.” Also you don’t feel like hearing “No pain, No gain.” To be honest you are probably saying the hell with that. You may be angry and upset because everything was going smooth until this came up. Everything was perfect until this happen. You may not have brought any of this upon yourself. God sees and knows beyond what we can comprehend and understand. 1 Corinthians 2:11 NIV it states: “For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.”  He wouldn’t be putting us through this unless he has our well-being in mind. I know this is difficult to read. Trust me; it’s difficult for me to write. Sometimes the medicine we have to take doesn’t taste good. Let’s go to the God You Said It verse of today.
In Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV it states: The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” The fifth thing you need to keep in mind is this verse. This is a difficult process we have to go through. There will be some good days and bad days. You feel like your emotionally being is stretch beyond your limits. I have been there. However, I would not be the person I am today if I haven’t gone through this. I pray and hope that you keep God with you through this. Don’t be afraid and don’t get discouraged. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Make sure no matter how hard and painful it gets, don’t leave God. You can power through pain.  Until next time may God bless you and keep you.

POWER THROUGH PAIN, PART 1

Last time we ended the series for now on lust. I hope it will bless you and keep you during these lustful times. Since that time, a highly ranked military official had to resign because of his lustful acts. In addition, there may be more people involved. The man who was the puppeteer for Elmo off of the children show Sesame Street resigned because of alleged lustful acts. I can’t stress this enough: LUST DESTORYS. It can cause someone to endure extreme suffering and pain. There are some people in pain right now. They may be a victim of a lustful act. They may be a person who lost their house. This person may have lost their job. They could have marriage problems. There could be thousands of reason why they are in pain. Today we are going to start talking about powering through pain.

I know that some of you right now are in pain. Whatever the reason no matter what people say it’s there. You get out of bed with it. You go through the day with it. Finally you lie down to go to sleep with it. It causes you to be depressed, unhappy, angry and lost. You go to sleep crying. Tears start to form in your eyes whenever you start thinking about it. It seems no one cares. You start to miss work. You don’t want to be around anybody. You can’t seem to enjoy life itself. All you want is for the pain to stop. You just want it to stop. It …………………………………………….hurts so bad.  You’re frustrated and tired. You’re asking how much longer do I have to go through this? Let me tell you something right now. No matter how long it takes, you will get through this pain. How do I know? You’re going to get through with power.
Where is this power? It’s through our lord and a savior.  God is ready and able to help you. He gives you the power to go through this pain. In Psalm 68:35 NIV version it states “You, God, are awesome in your sanctuary; the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people. Praise be to God!” You know what the good thing about it is? You have that same power too. You are part of God’s people.  You have access to this power through God. You can power through pain. In Deuteronomy 4:31 NIV version it states “For the LORD your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your ancestors, which he confirmed to them by oath.” God hasn’t forgotten about you nor abandon you.  Let’s look at the God U Said It verse of the day.

In John 16:33 NIV it states “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” You are going to go through some trouble in your life. It’s going to be uncomfortable and painful. The people you use to call won’t pick up the phone or call you back. Your tactics and skills won’t get you through. You are going to need God to get you through. You’re going to need his power. You may need to seek counseling or someone who is a person of God to help you. Your battery that’s inside of you is either running low or dead. You need to charge yourself with God providing you the power. When you have a problem or faced with a situation go to him. Pray to him in your language. He knows them all. Cry out to him. Let your control go and cry if you want. Lose yourself in him. He’s always there twenty four hours a day seven days a week. He’s never too busy. He doesn’t get tired of you. He will answer you. Leave your problems and cares to him. You will have peace through him.  WARNING:  He may not answer or solve your problem the way you want him to. Next time we’ll talk about what you need to keep in mind through your pain. Until then, may God continue to bless you and keep you.

LUST, IT'S ALL ABOUT HOW YOU USE THE LETTERS, PART 6

Last time we talked about moving up. After a lust fire, you have to deal with the aftermath. Look up toward God for direction, strength, support and healing. In addition, surround yourself with family and friends who will speak positive things into your spirit. Today, we are going to conclude this particular series of lust.

The sentence has come in on Jerry Sandusky. He got 30 to 60 years in prison. He will now die in prison. This is the result of a lust fire that got out of control. It started as a spark and turned into an inferno. Remember in Job 31:12 NLT. “It’s is a fire that burns all the way to hell. It would wipe out everything I own.”  I know someone at work last week got fired because of lustful acts and content. He was here at the job for 16 years. However, because he let the fire of lust get out of control, it cost him his job. There are hundreds of people in jail, prison or dealing with legal problems because of some form of lust. Keep in mind, my series has been on sexual lust. You can have lust for power, money, drugs, alcohol and control among other types.  Saints, LUST DESTORYS. Lust is the works of satan.

There are some of you right now who are committing lustful acts. It started out being innocent; however satan has corrupted this relationship. You’re having lustful conversations and engaging in lustful behavior. You’re going out to eat, movies or any other social event.  You must remember that satan is a liar and deceptive. You may get the feeling deep down inside that this is wrong. However, you continue with this type of behavior. You may be doing it behind his or her back. You may have told your spouse about it and said you won’t do it anymore. Yet, you still continue to do it. You are literally playing with fire. Sooner or later someone is going to get burnt. Someone is going to get hurt.  Somebody is going to suffer.  It may not be right away, but I can guarantee you that it will come.
Here’s the main problem when you keep this type of lust in your life. It gets into your heart and mind and you start to serve it. You start getting more involved with the other person physically, mentally and emotionally. You start thinking about the person you’re in lust with more than the one you’re in love with.  It will start to affect your feelings, behavior and actions. Your spirits starts to become one. If you’re married, you’ll be one with your spouse and one with the other person you are involved with. 1st Corinthians 6:16 NIV it states “Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”  You will never be satisfied with both. Your spouse won’t be satisfied and the person your involved with won’t be satisfied. This is exactly what satan wants: conflict, chaos and confusion. The results will be damage, devastation and destruction. Lust never satisfies it only consumes.

It may feel right. This person has more money, more stable, good looking etc…. They understand me better than my spouse does. You better beware and watch out. This is satan at work. If you’re involved in a lustful relationship and you feel you are getting away with something you’re not. You don’t get away with anything when it comes to God. God is not keeping this relationship together with you. You and satan are keeping it together. This is who you’re serving when you allow lust to control you.  Despite of all this, you have the power through God to overcome this. You can stop this lustful act before it’s too late.  You can recover from this.  Let’s now go to the God U Said Verse of the day.
In Matthew 5: 27 and 28 NIV it states “You have heard that it was said, You shall not commit adultery.  But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” This is why lust is so dangerous and something that you can’t play with. Most of us have committed adultery according to this statement by Jesus. According to this, you don’t commit adultery simply by just sleeping with someone else.  Just by looking at someone lustfully, you commit adultery in your heart. This is why you have to keep lust out of your heart. You have to ask God for forgiveness and move on. You can’t give lust life by letting it live in your mind and your heart. Here’s your phrase of today with lust spelled backwards.

T-They

S-Suffer

U-U

L-Lose

Remember, they will suffer because of your lust and you are going to lose something. Please stop before it’s too late. You have the power to stop lust from taking control. The problem is that we have is that we don’t know about our power and potential. Well, you are getting ready to find learn about that. Next time we are going to flick on the power and potential in your life. Until then may God bless you and keep you.

LUST, IT'S ALL ABOUT HOW YOU USE THE LETTERS, PART 5

Last time we talked about the aftermath of lust. You’re looking at your life and asking what now?  It’s time to talk with God about your recovery plan. In Jeremiah 29:11 NIV it states “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This plan still exists. Follow God’s plan he has for you and he will deliver. Today we are going to talk about the direction you should be moving.

There’s only one direction that you should be going. The direction is up. Please hear me in the spirit. You should be concentrating on going up. Move up to a new level and relationship with God. By doing this, he will give you directions on which way to go. When you experienced moving up with God, you can’t help but to succeed. Find out what it means to move up with God. I will provide you with some insight from my spirit. God is a “He is” and a “He has” God. What do I mean? Grab hold of this below

All of this and more you can have access to if you move up to God. Let’s go to the God U Said it Verse of today.

In Philippians 4:19 NIV it states, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Good God almighty, if you could look up through your tears and pain you’ll see and receive it He will meet your needs. Do you need something on the list above? Make your own list of needs. You can move up in a positive direction. A direction to prosperity, increase, peace and provisions. You may have some missteps. You may slip and move backwards. However, get back on track and continue to move up. God is with you on your journey. If you get too tired, God will pick you up into his arms. I have tears in my eyes because I know what he can do. You’re never out of his reach. You’re never too low for him. You’re never too far gone to him. You’re never too late for him. You’re never too bad for him. He is and He has!!!! Say today to yourself that you’re going up. I’m not staying of this floor anymore. Get on the elevator of life, press the G button for God and the elevator will go up.  Get off on that floor of your life and God will be waiting on you. Next time if God is willing we will end this series by reviewing and emphasis the facts about lust. Until next time, May God Continue to bless you and keep you.

LUST, IT’S ALL ABOUT HOW YOU USE THE LETTERS PART 4

Last time we talked about the destruction lust can cause. You can put the fire of lust out before it spreads. However, if you don’t, it can be like an uncontrolled forest fire. In order for a fire to burn you need a spark, oxygen and fuel. The spark can be from inappropriate language, touching and unprofessional advances. The oxygen that a lust fire needs is provided by allowing lust to enter your body and through you. The fuel can be from your continuous lustful acts of thoughts, conversations and behavior.  Take one these items out in time and you can put the fire out. However for whatever reason the fire wasn’t put out. Today we are going to talk about the aftermath of a lust fire.
Your life looks like an aftermath of a forest fire. You can smell the smoke and see the burnt remains.  Now it’s time to see the damage and destruction you’ve sustained. You see the charred remains of your relationship with your spouse or mate. You can see the shock, pain, anger and disappointment in their eyes. You have to answer the tough questions from your children. “Why doesn’t dad or mom live here anymore?” “What did they do?” You have to deal with their confusion, pain, sadness and anger.  Perhaps you got fired from your job because of a lustful act and now you got to go home to your spouse or mate and explain to him or her. I know of a man who got fired because he sent inappropriate content accidently to management instead of his friend. It was just supposed to be a joke. He started to cry and said “What am I going to tell my wife and kids?” He knew this was against company policy. You got caught cheating by your wife or husband with their best friend. You got arrested for being with someone under aged or with a prostitute.  There are hundreds of situations people are dealing with right now. You may be the person who committed arson by setting this fire of lust. However, you could be the victim of the fire of lust. The damage has been done. The question is what now? Where do I go from here? The journey your beginning or your currently on won’t be easy. It can take a while for you to recover. You don’t need to jump into another relationship. You need to have patience and give yourself some time to heal. You’ll have your good days and bad. You will go through different emotions. You may need to seek professional help to assist and guide you through this difficult time. Also, seek someone in ministry to help you. The most important thing you need to remember is that God is with you. It may not feel like it but he is. You will need to develop a deeper relationship with him.  Let’s go to the God U Said It Verse of today.

In John 16:33 NIV it states “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  Jesus is saying that you will have trouble.  He also states that through him you will have peace. After a forest fire, the land that has been burn will recover. Although the plant and trees above the surface has burned, the root system of the plant usually hasn’t been damage severely. Also, there are seeds and bulbs that will fall off the burning trees and plants. These seeds and bulbs will fall to the ground and take root. You may have Jesus rooted in you right now. However, you may be someone who doesn’t know Jesus as your savior. This is the time to plant him in your forest of life. This is the time for the root of Jesus to grow in you.  Once he starts to grow in you, peace will come to you.  Recovering and healing will come to you. Leadership and direction will come to you. All of this can take some time. This burnt area in your life is fertile. Don’t plant anger and revenge in this area. Don’t plant the weeds or thistles such as drugs, alcohol or more lust. Let Jesus be in your forest of life. He will bring someone along into your life. He has already brought himself in your life. All you have to do is take it to heart. Jesus is knocking on your heart to help you recover and fix the damage.  Here’s your phrase for today.

L-Lord
U-U

S-Save
T-Thee

L-Lord

U-U
S-Strengthen

T-Thee

He’s ready to plow and plant good and wonderful things in your forest. Next time we’ll talk about which way you must move. Until next time, may God continue to bless you and keep you.

LUST, IT’S ALL ABOUT HOW YOU USE THE LETTERS PART 3

Last time we talked about the difficulty of dealing with lust. It seems that you can’t escape from being exposed to lust. You have to rely on God to help you navigate through lustful situations. Continue to not only study the word of God but live the word of God. Today, we are going to look at the destruction lust can cause.

I talked about some of the destruction lust can cause in Part 1. When you get a chance, please go back and read lust, it’s all about how you use the letters part 1. Let’s go back to Job 31:12 NLT. “It’s is a fire that burns all the way to hell. It would wipe out everything I own.” I want to show you some other versions of this verse.  The NIV states, “It is a fire that burns to Destruction; it would have uprooted my harvest.” The KJV states, “For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction, and would root out all mine increase.”  The AMP states, “For [uncontrolled passion] is a fire which consumes to Abaddon (to destruction, ruin, and the place of final torment); [that fire once lighted would rage until all is consumed] and would burn to the root all my [life’s] increase.”  What do these different versions have in common? They all say lust is a fire and that will continue to burn until total destruction.  Lust will destroy your increase, harvest and everything you own. It’s like an uncontrolled forest fire.  It can take a while before you gain control of a forest fire and put it out.  Let’s go to the God U Said It Verse of the day.

Once again, the verse is Job 31:12 NLT. It states “It’s is a fire that burns all the way to hell. It would wipe out everything I own.”  The question I like to ask is what does a fire need to burn? In order for fire to burn, you need heat, oxygen and fuel. This is also now as the fire triangle. If any of these things are removed, the fire will be extinguished. These are the same things you need to have a fire of lust. You need some kind of spark.  The first lustful conversation, first time you look at porn, inappropriate touching etc… It needs some form of oxygen. The oxygen is provided by you. Remember in part 2 the verse warns you about lust getting into your heart. You need oxygen to live. If lust is living and pumping through your body, you’re giving it the oxygen because you need to breath in order to live. Lastly, it needs fuel to burn. For example, the subscription to the porn site or certain magazines.  The continuous lustful communication through text, emails and phone conversations.  In order for this to stop, you have to take one of these elements away. It may be too late to stop the spark but you can put out the fire. Otherwise, it will continue to burn until it consumes everything.  Here’s your phrase for today

LUST, IT’S ALL ABOUT HOW YOU USE THE LETTERS PART 2

Hello everyone, once again I’ve been under attack by the enemy.  He’s causing enough havoc to accomplish one of his goals.  He wants to keep me from writing about God. However, we all may fall down, but we have the ability to get back up again. No matter what made you fall, Jesus has his hand out like he did with Peter on the water. He will help you get up again and again and again. Last time, we looked at the definition of lust. Today, we’ll look at the difficulty with dealing with lust.

The reason why lust is such a problem is because you are bombarded by lust every day. You can’t escape the presence of lust. Every day you see TV shows, movies, advertisements, even the clothes people wear that promotes lust. It plays on your sense of sight. It’s pleasing to the eye. The problems start when you first looked at those images. Did you look at them with a clear mind or did you look at it with a lustful intent. Some images are designed for you to look at with a lustful frame of mind. For example: porn and certain magazines. Some images are not intended to be look at with that frame of mind. However, because we all have lustful images in our minds, it may trigger that part of the mind.  When you think about what you saw how do you remember the images? In Job 31:1 NIV it states “I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman.” In essence, we look at things in different frames of mind. We have to make a covenant with our eyes not to look at a woman or man lustfully.  You have to be in control of your thoughts and your state of mind. If you let this lust go uncheck, it will start to get into your heart. It’s very important not to let this lust get into your heart.  Why, let’s look at the God U Said it Verse of the day.
In Proverb 6:25 NIV it states “Do not lust in your heart after hear beauty or let her captivate you with her eyes.”  Let’s look at the first part of the verse.  The heart’s job is to pump blood all over your body which keeps you alive. When someone is unconscious, the first thing someone checks is for a pulse or a heartbeat. When you have lust in the heart, it circulates all over your body. In addition you have given it a pulse and a means to live.  You have memories of lustful images but the only way the brain can live is through the heart. Also, lust is occupying a place where Jesus wants to dwell in. He wants your heart to pump his essence all over your body.  Now let’s look at the second part of the verse. One of the entrances to your body is through the eyes. This is another way that lust can get into your body is through your sight. This is why you have to be mindful on how you looking at someone. Some of the synonyms of captivate is capture, trance, charm, bewitch, entrance and enchant. Some of these words you hear when someone is practicing witchcraft or sorcery.  Also in this verse you see the word “or”. What this is saying is don’t let lust enter through your hear t or through your eyes. Remember, lust doesn’t ever satisfy you. It keeps you coming back for more. Let Jesus come into your heart. He will answer the door for you if someone comes knocking. If it’s not of him, he won’t let them in. Here’s your phrase for today

LUST: IT’S ALL ABOUT HOW YOU USE THE LETTERS PART 1

Let me start off by saying it’s good to be back. I have been under attack by the enemy. It hasn’t been easy but God has gotten me through. Last time we concluded the study of Solomon for the time being. I hope it blessed you enough to apply what you have learned into your life. God has now switched me toward an epidemic that’s happening. It seems like every day the media is talking about it. The epidemic is called lust of the sexual type. Today we are going to look at definition of lust.
Every time you turn on the news you hear about sexual lust. From coaches, athletes, politicians, teachers, people in ministry even a former president, it has touched all walks of life. To understand better what we are dealing with, let’s get a definition of lust. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary “lust is an intense or unbridled sexual desire. To have an intense desire or need; crave specifically to have a sexual urge.” Lust is the works of the devil. It usually doesn’t come on at once. It works slowly into your spirit were you may not notice how much damage it’s causing. You will say to yourself “I was just joking or it’s not causing any harm. All we are doing is having a conversation. We just had a business lunch. I can control it.” We all kid around with people and have fun. We all are going to interact with people. This is to be expected. God wants you to enjoy life and he understands we interact with one another. However, you have to be aware of your behavior and when the enemy is trying to sneak in. Always remember the enemy is more crafty then any beast in the field. A lot of times you can start off innocent. You had no intent in trying to get with this person in a lustful kind of way. We say it just happened. There’s always a beginning or spark that lights this fire. Make sure you put it out before the fire gets out of control. What is the God You Said Verse of Today?

Here’s how the bible defines lust. In Job 31:11 & 12 NLT it states “For lust is a shameful sin, a crime that should be punished. It is a fire that burns all the way to hell. It would wipe out everything I own.” This is a very powerful and direct message. God is saying lust is a sin. It’s a crime and shameful. You can also expect some type of punishment to be administered. Look some of the headlines for proof now and in the past. Penn State University and the Sandusky case.  School teachers having a lustful relationship with a younger students. Priest being accused of sexual abuse.  The trial that went on in Atlanta about someone being shot at a daycare because of lust. The person who committed the lustful act is put to shame. They are exposed along with everyone who’s associated with them. Depending on the circumstances it can be a crime. Once prosecuted, you will be punished for the lustful act. You may not be prosecuted by the judicial system but you will by someone. Your life as you knew it will be severely damaged before you go to the court room. Even if your found innocent, in most cases your life will never be the same. You could lose your freedom, your spouse, family, friends, reputation and it goes on and on. Lust is fire that consumes and destroys. It can wipe out everything you own. Your finances, property your career etc… You will be in hell on earth. You can’t control it. It’s not meant to be controlled. If you’re committing a lustful act with anyone this is your wake up call. You need to stop now and pray. If needed, seek professional help with this problem. If you see someone doing a lustful act with someone, you need to report it. We need to pray for the victim of the lustful act. It’s a long road to recovery for the victims. We will continue to study lust to get a better understanding on what it is. Also, I’m going to use the letters in lust to form phrases. Here’s your phrase for today.

I got so much that God has put on my mind about what’s under attack in our walk with him. I know I will be talking about lust again but I don’t know exactly when. So next time, I will talk about wherever God guides me to. Until then, may God continue to bless you and keep you.

PROVERBS: WHO IS SOLOMON PART 7

Last time we continue to talk about the fall of Solomon. The results of his disobedience were he had part of his kingdom torn away. However, God tore part of his kingdom away from his son instead of Solomon himself. Solomon’s son inherited some of the punishment for his father’s disobedience. Today, we’ll see the other results of Solomon’s disobedience.

Let’s review and go back to 1 Chronicles 22:9 New International Version. It states “But you will have a son who will be a man of peace and rest, and I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side. His name will be Solomon, and I will grant Israel peace and quiet during his reign.” However, since Solomon started worshipping other Gods, this was no longer the case. In 1 King 11:14 New International Version it states “Then the LORD raised up against Solomon an adversary, Hadad the Edomite, from the royal line of Edom.” This was the first adversary that God raised up against Solomon. The second adversary came in 1 King 11:23 New International Version. It states “And God raised up against Solomon another adversary, Rezon son of Eliada, who had fled from his master, Hadadezer king of Zobah.” In 1 King 11:25 New International Version it states “Rezon was Israel’s adversary as long as Solomon lived, adding to the trouble caused by Hadad. So Rezon ruled in Aram and was hostile toward Israel. According to the Merriam-Webster one of the synonyms for adversary is the word enemy. God allowed these enemies to cause trouble with Solomon. Also, Solomon no longer had peace and rest from his enemies.

What’s the God U Said It Verse of the day? Let’s look at Job 12:13 New International Version. It states “To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his.” This is what God gave to Solomon. In most people views, Solomon had it all. God gave him wisdom, power, knowledge, wealth and respect. However, because he took his attention away from God, he began to go down the wrong path. Does this sound familiar even today? How many times have you heard about people having it all only to lose it in the end? You have to keep your focus on God. Be obedient and continue to build a strong relationship with God. God will protect you from your adversaries. There are many distractions and situations that will ruin you if you’re not careful.

This concludes our study of Solomon for now. I hope you got a better understanding on who was the main author of Proverbs was. Solomon has left us with his timeless wisdom and knowledge from God. There’s a great deal that we can learn from Solomon and Proverbs. Next time we are going to start studying about the epidemic that’s happening that needs to be addressed. Until then may God continue to bless you and keep you.

PROVERBS: WHO IS SOLOMON PART 6

Last time, we continue to talk about the fall of Solomon. He was warned and commanded by God to be obedient. God was very specific about what he wanted Solomon to do. However, Solomon continued to disobey God’s warnings and commands. Today we’ll look at part of the results at the results of Solomon’s disobedience.

In 1 King 11:11 New International Version it states “So the LORD said to Solomon, Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees, which I commanded you, I will most certainly tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates.” God is going to tear the kingdom away from Solomon. However, look at 1 King 11:12. It states “Nevertheless, for the sake of David your father, I will not do it during your lifetime. I will tear it out of the hand of your son.” His son was the one to take the punishment for what Solomon has done. In 1 King 11:13 it states “Yet I will not tear the whole kingdom from him, but will give him one tribe for the sake of David my servant and for the sake of Jerusalem, which I have chosen.” The subordinate that was to be given the kingdom torn away from Solomon was Jeroboam.
In 1 King 11:26 it states “Also, Jeroboam son of Nebat rebelled against the king. He was one of Solomon’s officials, an Ephraimite from Zeredah, and his mother was a widow named Zeruah.” In 1 King 11:28 “Now Jeroboam was a man of standing, and when Solomon saw how well the young man did his work, he put him in charge of the whole labor force of the tribes of Joseph.” Solomon promoted the person who was going to take most of his kingdom away from his son. From 1 King 29 through 1 King 39 it talks about Ahijah, who was a profit, told Jeroboam everything God told him. He was going to receive 10 kingdoms from the son of Solomon. In addition, he told Jeroboam about what Solomon did to have the kingdom taken away from his son. God also commanded Jeroboam to be obedient to God’s decrees and commands just like he commanded Solomon. This is part of the results of Solomon being disobedient to God.

What’s the God U Said It verse of today? Let’s go back to 1 King 11:12. It states “Nevertheless, for the sake of David your father, I will not do it during your lifetime. I will tear it out of the hand of your son.” You may have been disobedient to God and feel like I got away with it. However, it could affect your family, friends or children. You may have passed down a negative inheritance on to them. Before you disobey God ask yourself “Who else might suffer because of my disobedience?” God sees and knows everything. Don’t have something torn out of your son’s or daughter’s hands because you were disobedient. I said this before: it’s not always about you. You’re not getting away with anything. Next time we’ll continue to look at the results of Solomon’s disobedience. Until next time, may God continue to bless you and keep you.

PROVERBS: WHO IS SOLOMON PART 5

Last time, we started to talk about the fall of Solomon. He allowed his wives to turn his heart after other Gods thus changing his I.D. When Solomon was younger he was taught not to have other Gods. God himself warned Solomon that this would happen. We will continue to study the fall of Solomon. Today we’ll study how Solomon started to be disobedient according to what God commanded and warned him about.
In 1 King 11:9 New International Version it states “The LORD became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice.” God was angry with Solomon because he commanded and warned him to be obedient. The command came in 1 King 6:12 New International Version. It states “As for this temple you are building, if you follow my decrees, observe my laws and keep all my commands and obey them, I will fulfill through you the promise I gave to David your father.” God commanded Solomon to keep all my commands and obey them. The warning came in 1 King 9:6. It states “But if you or your descendants turn away from me and do not observe the commands and decrees I have given you[and go off to serve other gods and worship them.” God even went as far to warn Solomon what the results would be if he didn’t obey. In 1st King 9:7 it states “then I will cut off Israel from the land I have given them and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name. Israel will then become a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples.”
Solomon was also warned about having relationships with strange women. The wives of Solomon were the women God warned Solomon not to marry. In 1 King 11: 2 New International Version it states “They were from nations about which the LORD had told the Israelites, “You must not intermarry with them, because they will surely turn your hearts after their gods.” Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love.” Once again God warn him about what the results would be if he didn’t obey. However, Solomon chose to hold on to these women. This further contributed to the fall of Solomon.
What’s the God U Said It Verse of today? Let’s go back to 1 King 9:7 and the part of the verse that says “Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love.” Are you saying to God, “I know you have warned me about this but nevertheless I’m going to hold fast in love.” What are you holding on to in love despite of all the warnings you have been given? Do you love that person so much your willing to put up with the abuse? Do you love to get high despite of all of the warnings about drug abuse? Heed to the warnings that God has given you and turn your focus to him. God commands and warns us about certain issues because he loves and cares about us. God knows what’s best. Next time we’ll look at the results of Solomon’s disobedience. Until next time, may God bless you and keep you.
